Visit to Children's Learning Programme for Migrants in Sandakan

Just came back from a week long's visit to Sandakan where the Good Shepherd Welfare Centre has its outreaches to the migrants. It was a moving moment for me to see them learning to write the number "5". It was their fifth lesson. The children ranged between the ages of 5 to 13.

A humble moment to count my blessings for getting education so easily and very grateful for my parents for the opportunities given.

These children's parents work in the palm oil plantation in Sandakan. It would cost them too much to travel anywhere to go to school, if that is permitted at all in our country... So, the Children's Learning Programme (CLP) decided to bring the programme to the plantation. About 30 children came consistently for classes in these past 2 months since it started. The number would be increasing once other parents/children around know about it.

Taking a break... Whoa! Hard work writing a whole page of the number "5"!
