Lifefire Camp 17-19 Sep

For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

The Lifefire Campus Ministry organised a weekend camp at Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre. About 35 students participated in the event.

Both Derek & I have been working closely with the leadership team for the past year and it was a privilege to be invited to their camp this year.

The theme for the weekend was on courage and thus, all leaders were challenged to share their testimonies throughout the camp according to the topics prepared. We were totally amazed at their courage in sharing their lives of what God has done in various areas and in different ways in their lives.

Since the making of a collage has been so significant in our growth, we decided to introduce this to the group. They were asked to present their "Map of life" in a collage.

We took a risk in this not knowing what the response would be... especially from the men...

We were very impressed to see their creativity and eagerness to try it out.

In the process of making the collage, many shared that they did not expect revelation of the past would come up so distinctly.

After making the collage, we were grouped in 3s to share about our collage. As stories were shared, the group became closer to one another as they felt that they were not alone; each has their own story to tell, their own brokenness and their own achievements.

We are grateful to God for being witnesses to His faithful love through these young people. We felt that they connected immediately and were able to take the challenge to face their past in order to move on in life with courage.

They each prepared a 3 minute testimony which some had the opportunity to share during mass. Fr Wilfred came to celebrate the Eucharist with us amidst all his other commitments in KK. He mentioned, he was also encouraged in his vocation after listening to the testimonies.

We rejoice at what God has done in the lives of these people!! We are so glad to be able to see a glimpse of His glory this weekend!
