Lifefire Sleepover

Enjoying dinner with the girls... Most of them just finished their lectures/exams at UMS.

Finally had the time to cook and invite all the lifefire leaders as promised in their weekend meeting last year! Since it was Chinese New Year, we decided to do it during the long weekend holidays.

Enjoyed their energy and life... Most of them hardly slept. They were keeping themselves busy with assignments, playing with the air matresses and cathcing up with one another. So, we had 7 girls who stayed overnight while the rest left just before midnight.

Bags all packed ready for the sleepover

Go to your cell...

Go to your cell and your cell will teach you everything you need to know: Stay inside of your vocation, inside of your commitments, inside your legitimate conscriptive duties, inside of your church, inside of your family, and they will teach you where life is found and what love means. Be faithful to your commitments and what you are ultimately looking for will be found there.

We are all monks and it matters not whether we are in a monastery or are in the world as spouses, parents, friends, ministers in the church, teachers, doctors, nurses, laborers, artisans, social workers, bankers, economic advisors, salespersons, politicians, lawyers, mental health workers, contractors, or retirees. Each of us has our cell and that cell can teach us what we need to know.

Ron Rolheiser, 10th January 2010

His writings caught my attention today... of the reality of discovering our call and the importance of living it out in its fullness. May we have the grace to embrace the reality of our today and live in its fullness. Hopefully, we will be able to find what we are looking for, which will meet the deepest desires of our hearts.

Epiphany Jan 3

When we hear the voice of the old king of death and fear and cynicism, let us have the courage to go our own way -- rejoicing. The star and the journey will send us onwards, by newer paths, to come into the presence of the Child of Light and the Prince of Peace, who is the fulfillment of humanity's deepest hopes and desires for light, justice, love and peace.

Welcoming the New Year Worshipping the Giver

It had always been our desire to welcome the new year with a time of worship. So, after a nice plate of lasagne, we had a time of sharing, on how the year had been for us. As we share each other's joys and sorrows, we welcomed the new year with a time of worship, placing all our hope in God and trusting that He will hold us through the coming year.
